To obtain a visa within the model established in the memorandum, according to the data contained in the document, you must ensure that:
- intend primarily to holiday in Australia for a period of up to twelve (12) months;
- be at least 18 (eighteen) years old, but not 31 (thirty-one) at the time of applying for the visa;
- have not previously participated in Australia's Work and Holiday or Work and Holiday program;
- will not be accompanied by dependent children;
- holds a valid passport;
- have a travel ticket or sufficient funds to purchase such ticket;
- has sufficient funds for personal maintenance during the initial stay in the territory of Australia, for the purposes of the bilateral program on the “Work and Holiday” visa;
- meets health and character requirements as specified by the laws of Australia;
- successfully completed at least two (2) years of study in higher education;
- has a level of proficiency in English that is minimally assessed as functional.
The memorandum also establishes that contracting for services must not exceed a period of 6 months. But, if you get a job for a longer period of time, you can apply for employment and a permanent visa to live in Australia, which is a slightly more complicated process.
