The contract will cause Wartsila to provide maintenance services on six vessels belonging to Sapura Navegação, which will carry its engines.
Sapura's fleet of PLSV's will now be taken care of by Wartsila. The companies signed a contract and from now on, the six support and launching vessels for flexible pipes at Sapura will have their maintenance program managed by Wartsila.
Wartsila will monitor and maintain equipment on the vessels that are all at Petrobras' service. There will be two contracts between the two companies, a contract for parts and another for the provision of local services.
The maintenance contract involves a total of 34 engines and 42 propellers from the Finnish manufacturer that are installed in this fleet.
Sapura hopes to extend the vessel's operating period with overhauls and flexible maintenance intervals.

Sapura's maintenance manager, Fábio Gervasio, declared that, with maintenance carried out by wartsila, “It will be possible to carry out interventions only when necessary, resulting in a reduction in operating costs, which makes it possible to postpone major maintenance, such as docking, for example”.
