The Electric Scooter from Honda Created by an Indian Youtuber Has a Hub-Mounted Motor with a Constant Power of 1 Kilowatt and a Peak Power of 2 to 2.5 Kilowatts
There are several new models that have emerged in the market for electric motorcycles and scooters manufactured by Honda, some of which are reinterpretations of the company’s most iconic designs. However, supporters still don’t seem satisfied.
Even though the Japanese manufacturer does not produce an electric version of the Activa scooter, which is one of the company’s most popular models among low-cost alternatives, an Indian motorcyclist chose to build an electric Honda scooter at home.
The project developer is the owner of the DIY Tech In Telugu channel on YouTube, where he shows how an old Activa was converted into an electric scooter and new decals were applied to it. At first glance, it looks like a factory model! Nevertheless, there were some modifications made to the scooter, the most notable being the new instrument console and equipment.

Fiat Strada Turbo addresses the lack of power in the 1.3 versions with an engine of up to 130 hp, CVT transmission, and Sport mode, but evaluation reveals that the best-selling pickup truck in Brazil could still offer better braking, a larger screen, and more comfort for rear passengers.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder arrives with a 115 hp 1.5 hybrid engine, e-Drive transmission, and a declared fuel consumption of 27.97 km/l, more economical than Corolla Cross, Creta, T-Cross, and Compass in Brazil; the affordable SUV showcases a compact, modern, and economical Toyota that Brazilians can only find at dealerships in India.

Few people know, but using only the “D” gear in an automatic transmission on hills can accelerate transmission wear and increase risks on downhill slopes — are you driving the wrong way without realizing it?
A fully digital device was installed in place of the Activa’s analog dashboard, and this turned out to be quite an unexpected development. The modification, which now looks like a genuine component, displays important information, such as the state and charge percentage of the battery, remaining range, speedometer, odometer, and the chosen riding mode for the now electric Honda scooter.
Yes, the electric Honda Activa scooter has three different riding modes, in addition to a parking mode, and the dashboard is where all the controls for these features are located. Moving on to the motor, the electric scooter has a hub-mounted motor with a constant power of 1 kilowatt and a peak power of 2 to 2.5 kilowatts (3.4 horsepower).
This results in a maximum of just over 3 horsepower, compared to the 8.6 horsepower offered by the combustion variant Activa 125, with a 72-volt and 40 amp-hour battery.
According to the Video Posted on YouTube, the Total Conversion Cost Was 100,000 Rupees, Which Converts Directly to About R$ 6,200
The electric Honda scooter created by the Youtuber has a range of 120 kilometers, but can only reach a top speed of 55 kilometers per hour, making it comparable to a moped. Additionally, it appears that the battery management system is compatible with mobile devices, such as smartphones.
According to a video uploaded to YouTube, the total conversion cost was 100,000 rupees, which is about R$ 6,200 when converted directly. This amount includes the cost of the vehicle donated for the project, which was an older scooter.
The expenses incurred by the builder as a result of trial and error during the conversion were also taken into account. Therefore, simply replicating the updated build might be a bit more economical now.
All conversions will need to be certified by the relevant authorities in India before the electric Honda scooter can be operated on the street, which may result in an increase in the total price.
Therefore, it might be simpler to acquire an existing electric scooter in the market, such as the TVS iQube, which can be purchased for Rs 99,130, about R$ 6,100. But, looking at it from another perspective, it also wouldn’t be a more fun or inspiring option.
