Conlest has already obtained an estimate directly from Petrobras and the month for hiring at least 400 employees for Comperj.

[supsystic-social-sharing id='1′]The Intermunicipal Consortium of the Municipalities of the East Fluminense (Conleste) hopes for the first quarter of next year to hire at least 400 workers for the month of March 2018 with the resumption of work on the Rio de Janeiro Petrochemical Complex (Comperj). Representatives of the consortium met last Tuesday with the president of Petrobras, Pedro Parente, who confirmed the investment of around BRL 10 billion in the project until 2020.

Petrobras is also negotiating with a Chinese company to advance on another project: Route 3, a 232-kilometer set of pipelines and gas pipelines that connects the Santos Basin to Jaconé, in Maricá, in addition to a natural gas processing unit. There is yet another plan, which could result in the modernization of the entire refining park in the state. All of this is done in partnership with a Chinese company, with which the state-owned company is negotiating the terms of an agreement.

LOCAL LABOR

Completing the plant is important for Petrobras to stop burning natural gas on the platforms. The practice has environmental impacts and needs strict authorizations and licenses issued by the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), which, over time, can make the operation more costly.

President of Conleste, mayor Rodrigo Neves (PV) suggested that Petrobras favor local labor in Comperj's operations. Relatives approved the idea.

— I think it's a really very suitable proposal and I guarantee that, if it were up to me alone, it would already be adopted, but approval from the board is needed and I'll take the topic to the next meeting — said the president of Petrobras.

Remembering that there will be a public assembly at the end of this month on Comperj's works, mark your presence by clicking here.

WORRYING EXPECTATION

Investigated in Operation Lava-Jato, Comperj's works have been paralyzed since 2014. However, the local effects of the resumption of investments may be smaller than previously estimated, due to the review of the reference percentages adopted for the industry's local content policy oil company.
