Braskem's main activities affected by the stoppage are the PVC industry, which supplies raw material to second and third generation industries in the country's plastics chain, rock salt mining at the Maceió deposit, which is considered one of the largest in Latin America and the production of dichloroethane, the basis for the production of PVC and caustic soda.
The change of state would make it possible for the company and the transfer of its activities to the border between Espírito Santo and the state of Bahia, a place strategically designed for the logistics of Porto do Açu.
