After waiting for maintenance and painting services, the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) should receive the Airbus A330 aircraft, purchased from Azul Linhas Aéreas, during the end of July, at the Galeão Air Force Base, located in the state of Rio de January.

The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) now awaits the arrival of the Airbus A330 at Galeão Air Force Base, located in the state of Rio de Janeiro, and forecasts for the arrival of the plane are for the end of July, on Tuesday, the 26th. The plane was acquired by the FAB in a contract with Azul Linhas Aéreas and has undergone maintenance and painting services until the present moment.

Airbus A330 aircraft should arrive at Galeão Air Force Base during the end of July, according to forecasts by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) and Azul Linhas Aéreas

The first aircraft of the Airbus A330 type is about to arrive on Brazilian soil for the use of the FAB and the vehicle should land at Galeão Air Force Base on the 26th of this month of July. This is the first vehicle of its kind to be used for military purposes in the national territory and will make a strong contribution to the FAB fleet in Brazil.

And, so far, the Airbus A330 has undergone a series of services in other countries, including structure maintenance in Jordan and painting by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) in Ireland. Although the expected time for the delivery of a vehicle of this type is longer, the FAB was in a hurry regarding the current need to use the aircraft and, therefore, the painting and maintenance services were carried out in different places.

Thus, the plane is now ready to arrive on Brazilian soil at the Galeão Air Force Base and be used by the country's Air Force, which had signed the contract with Azul Linhas Aéreas for the acquisition during the month of April 2022.

The choice of the plane model was thought about compatibility with the military version A330 MRTT (Multi-Role Tanker Transport) and Azul Linhas Aéreas was chosen in the bidding after fulfilling all the criteria of the contest. In addition, the airline's offer to the FAB revolved around the global value of approximately US$ 80 million, equivalent to R$ 375 million reais.

FAB intends to use a plane purchased from Azul Linhas Aéreas to meet its operational needs and ensure more safety in situations of public calamity

The entire delivery process of the FAB Airbus A330 plane was greatly accelerated for its brief arrival at the Galeão Air Force Base, since the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) needed to use the Azul Linhas Aéreas vehicle to supply its operational shortages, such as In-Flight Refueling (REVO), Logistic Air Transport (of cargo and passengers) and Humanitarian Aid.

In addition, the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) still intends to use the plane in emergency situations and public calamities in the national territory, not limiting its use to military purposes. In this way, in situations such as a pandemic, natural disasters or even medical emergencies, the Airbus A330 will carry out Aeromedical Evacuation (EVAM) missions of large numbers of patients.
