Chinese group confirmation was given to the state governor during a visit to China and will involve solar and wind energy projects

The Governor of the State of Bahia, Rui Costa, affiliated with the PT, managed to attract significant investment to the state during his visit to China.
The deal involves figures of around BRL 1 billion with the Chinese group CGN Energy International Holdings and involves investments in wind energy and solar energy projects in Bahia, in the region of Caetité, Tanque Novo, in Morrinhos and Bom Jesus da Lapa .

Confirmation of the investment was given by the governor on his social networks, last Wednesday (15/05), during the last day of the Bahia politician's visit to China, who closed the deal with the company's president, Zeng Qi Bo.

The governor celebrated the agreement reached with the Chinese and declared: “Wonderful news. An investment of BRL 1 billion in wind energy and solar energy in Bahia, in the region of Caetité, Tanque Novo, Morrinhos and Bom Jesus da Lapa. We are returning to Brazil today even happier than we left, with so many investments that we are taking to Bahia”.

At the end of June, the Chinese will come to Brazil to confirm the agreement and detail how the investment will be made in the state of Bahia.

It is not the first Chinese investment in Bahia or in the state's renewable energy sector.
Recently the Chinese announced deals, with the Italian Enel Green Power, which involved the purchase of two renewable energy plants in Bahia, the solar park in Bom Jesus da Lapa and the wind farm in Cristalândia.

Samples of Asian appetite in Brazil have been increasingly frequent, earlier this month at FIRJAN, a meeting was held with businessmen from Singapore, who were in rio de Janeiro and met with Brazilian businessmen and institutions aiming at cooperation agreements in the Oil and Gas area.
