Petrobras Perenco field basin assets

The fields that are being sold are: Pargo, Carapeba and Vermelho, in the shallow waters of the Campos Basin. The deal is valued at around $370 million.

Petrobras has just signed with Perenco the assignment of its stake in the assets in the Campos Basin, which amounted to US$370 million, the fields of Pargo, Carapeba and Vermelho, in shallow waters, which are active shallow ace production offshore in the coastal region of Rio de Janeiro.

Of this total amount, 20% or US$ 74 million will be paid upon signing the contract, and the rest will be finalized at the closing of the deal, from the moment that Perenco actually begins its operations in the assets sold.

This bargain now only depends on the approval of the ANP (National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels) to be sanctioned and the necessary licenses obtained from Ibama

These fields were dubbed at the time as “Polo Nordeste” and were found in 1975 (Pargo) and 1982 (Carapeba and Vermelho), which were consented in 1998.

Petrobras points out that the platforms are connected or integrated into the production system. These platforms are of the “fixed jacket” model, their production today is around 9 barrels daily.

Currently, the Franco-British company Perenco operates concessions in the Espírito Santo basin in partnership with OGX and Sinochem.

It so happens that Petrobras' focus today is on the pre-salt, we are fields in declining production or mature, they are part of the state's divestment program. It is more sensible to pass these assets on to some smaller companies with the capacity to “touch” them in the future. More details of this transaction throughout the day.  She also released the production report in October, and the results were satisfactory, check it out here.
