Santander has dozens of scholarships for people aged 18 to 30 in the USA. The scholarships are for English courses and the entire trip will be covered by the institution.
Santander, in partnership with University of Pennsylvania, in the city of Philadelphia, has 90 full scholarships open to young people aged 18 to 30 who wish to take English courses in the United States. The training lasts three weeks and takes place between the 8th and 28th of July 2024. Those interested in participating must have a minimum level of low-intermediate English, normally equivalent to B1.
What do Santander scholarships offer?
O exchange of English courses is aimed only for students from level B1 to C1. Registration can be completed until March 13th. Students selected for Santander scholarships must have a passport valid until January 2025 and a US visa.
The processing for obtaining a visa and passport is the responsibility of the scholarship holders. Those who are approved for scholarships for English courses in the USA will have the following benefits:
- Round-trip tickets;
- Lectures by guest professors from other Penn departments;
- Accommodation in a room in a university residence for the entire duration of the scholarship;
- Basic meal plan at the university cafeteria in the USA;
- Health insurance;
- Sociocultural activities;
- 20 hours of classes per week (from low-intermediate to advanced level);
- Certificate of participation at the end of the course.
It is also important to highlight that each student must take two elective courses. The possible subjects for Santander scholarships are:
- Leadership and team building (all levels);
- Innovation and technology (intermediate and advanced levels);
- Sustainability (intermediate and advanced levels);
- Professional business writing (advanced level);
- Positive psychology and resilience (intermediate and advanced levels);
- Strategic planning and persuasive communication (advanced level);
- Communication and social media (pre-intermediate level).

Those interested in competing for one of the scholarships must fill out an application form on the Santander Portal by March 13th. Before applying, you will need to register and the data to be filled in includes your full name, country of residence, date of birth, email, and password creation.
It is important to highlight that a skills test will be held on March 14th. The 400 best candidates for English courses will be selected for the second phase, which consists of filling out forms, sending documents and sending a motivation letter.
