In yet another investment in the wind energy sector, the company Elecnor intends to build new wind energy parks in three regions of Bahia
Elecnor won the construction of a new wind power plant in the state of Bahia, which will have around 52 turbines and an investment of 44 million euros (approximately 284 million reais). Specifically, the Tucano, Araci and Biritinga wind farms that were created by AES Brasil.

Elecnor will be responsible for building the Power Plant Balance Sheet (BOP), both civil and electrical, for the first phase of the investment in wind energy. BOP is a term generally used to refer to all the supporting components and auxiliary systems of a power plant. The operations foreseen in the contract include the foundation of 52 turbines of 6,2 MW, which will be supplied by Siemens Gamesa.
The wind energy turbines that are part of the investment will be built in steel towers that reach 115 meters in height and will have wind energy blades of 80 meters, forming a circumference of 170 meters in diameter. They are the most powerful and largest turbines ever installed in investments in the wind sector in Brazil. The project is expected to be completed next year (2022).

Wind energy in Bahia
In the wind energy sector, Bahia generated approximately 12.590,21 GWh in 2020 alone, according to the National Electric System Operator (ONS).
Last year, the start-up of 17 new plants helped the state to remain in first place in the production of energy from wind sources in the country. For the second consecutive year, the territory of Bahia has been occupying the first place in the national ranking of both renewable sources. The State government has been working hard to attract investments that contribute to the consolidation of results.
