After purchasing three new wind farms, AES Brasil, a company that produces sustainable and affordable energy, can advance its energy generation capacity

AES Brazil incorporated around 456 MW of installed energy capacity from the acquisition of three new wind farms, namely: Ventos do Araripe, in Piauí, Caetés, in Pernambuco, and Cassino, in Rio Grande do Sul.

The three new clean energy wind farms of AES Brasil are contracted in the regulated environment, being 100% operational and have a supply until 2035. With this, AES Brasil has doubled its installed energy capacity compared to 5 years ago and will 5,2 GW of installed energy capacity, 100% renewable, 57% coming from wind and solar plants and 43% from hydropower, where 4,2GW are operational and 1,0 GW are under construction, making the AES Brasil becomes the 3rd largest renewable energy player.

AES Brasil still considers the installed capacity under construction of the Tucano and Cajuína wind farms, which have 455,9 MW of operational wind energy capacity, acquired in August and which is still subject to modifications, depending on the optimization of the projects.

Clarissa Sadock, CEO of AES Brasil, commented: “Our strategic position stands out from other wind farms as it constitutes a vehicle for growth in 100% renewable energy, with continuous investment in the expansion of our energy generating plants. the energy and in the development of new technologies and innovative products”. The total value of the purchase procedure for the new plants is up to R$ 2 billion and the completion of the Transaction will depend on the fulfillment of precedent conditions common to this type of transaction.

“I would like to emphasize that this is the 5th M&A (merger and acquisition) and the largest carried out by AES Brasil to date, reaffirming the company's successful trajectory and directing another essential step towards our growth strategy and portfolio diversification through the purchase of wind farms and the development of projects for complementary energy sources to water. We are here once again generating value through growth for our shareholders”, ended the CEO of AES Brasil.

With the acquisition of new wind farms, AES Brasil will be able to increase its private capital

Soon after the acquisition of the new power plants wind farms, AES Brasil is forecasting a private capital increase that could reach around 1,1 billion reais to help finance wind farms, according to data from the CEO of AES Brasil.

Still, the chief executive reported that only the company's shareholders will be able to participate in the capital increase, adding that the controlling group of AES Brasil will be able to contribute around 100 million dollars.

Since it is not an offer open to the public, the value per share will be approximately 9,61 reais, a devaluation of 10% that was calculated based on the volume-weighted price of the shares in the last 60 trading sessions of B3, until the August 5th.
