Growth and economic impact in São Marcos Bay

The collaboration between Bunker One and Acelen in São Marcos Bay (MA) reaches a significant milestone in the first three months, with almost 50 large ships supplied. This success signals the region's potential for the maritime economy and state development. An increase of 40% to 50% in supply operations is expected by 2024, highlighting the strategic relevance of the partnership.

Flavio Ribeiro, CEO of Bunker One Brasil, highlights geographic efficiency and growth expectations for next year. “This strategic alliance with Acelen allowed us to meet a growing and important demand in the region”, he states. In turn, Cristiano da Costa, from Acelen, highlights the continuous and upward commitment of the operation, aiming to double the production destined for the Brazil bunker.

Notably, the operation introduced the concept of ‘bunker-only calls’, where ships plan strategic stops in the region for supply, representing 15% of the total volume. This logistical innovation allows the supply of fuel without affecting loading and unloading operations, optimizing times and costs.

Lidia Pflueger of Syngamar sees significant local changes due to this increase in port activity. “There is growth in local businesses and a notable increase in jobs, boosting Maranhão’s economy,” she reports.
