Cognizant, one of the world's leading companies specializing in solutions for digital transformation in large organizations, launches the Global Dev 2021 Data Engineering Acceleration program. The companies organized the program in four editions, the first of which took place in June, with two more sessions scheduled for 2.

According to Cognizant, the partnership with Digital Innovation One, responsible for building the program's educational track and which has more than 500 developers on its platform, aims to provide development opportunities for technology professionals and at the same time speed up the hiring process, connecting the company to the IT community.

“Faced with a demand that does not stop growing, Brazil today has a shortage of professionals in the IT area, and Cognizant wants to collaborate to solve this problem. This is one of the initiatives we have to accelerate the training of market professionals, as well as the inclusion and democratization of knowledge”, says Tatiana Romero, leader of Human Resources at Cognizant in Brazil.

The program is divided into four stages: registration, pre-selection test, acceleration and selection process. The prerequisites to apply for the September edition are: having more than two years of professional experience in software development and having understanding of the Python language. At the end of the cycle, Cognizant will hire up to 20 professionals, a number that may increase depending on the results of the program.

The program will last seven hours and will consist of three workshops on Python, Spark and Data Engineering. In addition, coding challenges, practical projects and mentoring will be proposed, all in order to value the individual journey of each participant.
