Neoenergia benefits communities in the region of the Chafariz wind energy complex (PB) with the installation of solar panels and expansion of renewable energy in the region

The Chafariz wind power complex is made up of 15 wind farms, located in the municipalities of Santa Luzia Areia de Baraúnas, São Mamed, São José do Sabugi, Junco do Seridó (PB) all in the hinterland of Paraíba. After starting operations, the undertaking will have an installed capacity of 471 MW of renewable energy, thanks to the 136 wind turbines, one of the most modern and efficient on the market, with blades measuring around 65 meters in length.

More wind energy with Neoenergia in 2022

The 15 wind farms under construction by Neoenergia are expected to be completed by 2022. Together with Santa Luzia, located in the same region, the complex will be one of the largest in the country and one of the company's largest in the world.

Social commitment

The Chafariz Wind Complex in Paraíba brings benefits with several of Neoenergia's own initiatives. Among them is support for the Serra do Talhado Community Association of Black Louceiras, an entity formed by women from the Quilombola Community of Serra do Talhado Urbana, in Santa Luzia (PB), which produces clay items, such as pots and vases.

The support of the Paraíba took place in the reformulation of the visual identity, giving greater visibility to the work done by the artisans. Neoenergia's initiative generated several promotional materials with the new logo, including banners, business cards and letterhead, in addition to the entrepreneurship course to be held in 2021.

The professional qualification of residents is another socioeconomic commitment in which Neoenergia stands out. In January 2020, professional training courses were promoted for civil work activities, such as mason, carpenter, assembler and basic electrical work, in partnership with SENAI, to train local labor, focusing on future hiring in the project.
