Macaé, the princess of the Atlantic, reduces ICMS to 2% and attracts the interests of large multinationals, generating jobs in the city!
The week started with great news for Macaé! Continental, one of the most important manufacturers of tires and automotive parts in the world, transfers its activity to a factory in São Paulo and transfers its hose manufacturing operation to its headquarters in Macaé (RJ) and Ponta Grossa (PR), however, its branch still remains in SP. New business model with projected expansion of production at the plant installed in the municipality, promises to generate many job openings!
The good news led the mayor of the city Welberth Rezende, and his municipal entourage, to visit the factory of the German multinational, where they were very well received by the president of the Continental group in South America, Frederic Senagaglia, together with the Plant Manager of the company in Macaé, Denis Escudeiro.
Continental's factory was inaugurated in Macaé in 2014 to serve the oil and gas industry
Continental's factory was inaugurated in Macaé in 2014, starting its operation with the production of hoses used in oil and gas industry operations, which are exported to countries in South America and the United Arab Emirates.
To serve new markets such as agribusiness, this year the German multinational began manufacturing composite hoses and PVC drains, and according to Denis Escudeiro, the company's new business strategy promises to generate new jobs for the city. “We are going through a growth process at our plant in Macaé. The partnership with the city hall is essential to guarantee our investments”, explained Denis.
In addition to manufacturing composite hoses and PVC drains at its factory in Macaé, Continental also presented the project to expand the production plant, a strategy highlighted by the president of the Continental group in South America.
“We have always believed in the potential of Macaé and, despite the challenges, we persisted until reaching this moment of defining a new business model that represents the expansion of our operations in the city”, registered Frederic Senagaglia.
It should be noted that the reduction of ICMS in Macaé from 18% to 2%, as a result of our articulation with Governor Cláudio Castro and also in the Allerj is attracting companies and businesses to the city.
