China has stopped being a country that built low-quality artifacts to invest in technology and bet on new revenue alternatives. Today, the world is more concerned with the environment than ever, and that’s why electric cars are the new bet of the automotive market to reduce carbon emissions. Alibaba, the giant Chinese e-commerce company, is selling, on its site, its new electric pickup truck.

As expected, the great differentiator of this Chinese product is the price. The market already has solar electric cars, but most of them are sold at exorbitant prices. The Chinese solar electric pickup truck is smaller than its gasoline-powered and diesel competitors.

However, even small, it is very functional and can be used on various occasions. The cabin has everything you would find in another vehicle, like radio, air conditioning, wipers, etc. However, the vehicle is focused for off-road use or street driving. Its top speed is only 40 km/h. Its rear traction is reduced and focused on torque, not speed. The mini pickup truck has a range of 120 km, with a 72 v and 7.2 kWh battery.

How Much Does It Cost?

The Alibaba mini electric pickup truck is sold for around US$ 5,500 for the simplest model, and US$ 4,500 if you choose to buy 10 units of the electric vehicle. In Brazil, the vehicle can become expensive due to the depreciation of the real against the dollar, making it even more difficult for Brazilians looking to import products. In addition, the vehicle is expected to arrive in Brazil with many taxes.
