The Enel Group company, Enel X, entered into a partnership with Banco Itaú for a pilot project operation of electric cars

Bearing in mind that Enel X has great expertise in the electric mobility sector, Banco Itaú entered into a new partnership with the Enel Group company for an electric car-sharing service in the country. Vehicles offered are the BMW i3, JAC iEV40, Jaguar I-Pace as well as the Nissan Leaf.

Partnership between Enel X and Itaú can help consumers change their car every year

Since last Monday (June 21), residents of the capital of São Paulo could already see the cars of Vec Itaú, an electric car-sharing service circulating through the streets of greater São Paulo. The system is similar to the one already made by the bank, known as Bike Itaú bicycles.

According to the Bank, which partnered with Enel X, in this first stage, approximately 500 Itaú employees will have access to the Jaguar I-Pace, JAC iEV40 and BMW i3 electric cars, which were already planned for the launch of the service at the end of the last year.

In addition to these, the Nissan Leaf will also be part of Itaú's fleet of electric cars. The first charging stations will be installed in administrative units that Itaú owns in the city of São Paulo, in partnership with Enel X. The expectation is that in the second half of the year the sharing service will expand and will have new stations and new electric cars.

According to the director of Itaú Unibanco, the world is constantly changing and the way people get around in centers is also changing. He states that the bank will add value through an innovative, safe, technological and sustainable experience, in addition to stimulating the electric car market in Brazil.

To use the vehicles, an initial tariff and a value per minute of use will be charged, but the prices have not yet been defined. The vehicles will also have an internet connection, to further facilitate the journeys of users.
