iFood and Digital House entered into a partnership to provide 150 places in three free courses in the IT area, in the EAD modality, and focused on minority groups

Last week, iFood entered into a partnership with edtech Digital House to make 150 vacancies available in Potência Tech 2022, a program that encourages the training of professionals in the IT area through free courses online and scholarships. Among the opportunities that iFood and Digital House are making available this Wednesday (23), are: Front End Programming, Back End Programming and Data Analytics.

Candidates must compose minority groups, as the idea of iFood and the digital-house is to give priority to underrepresented profiles, which are less present in social dynamics, such as cis and trans women, self-declared black, yellow and indigenous people, people with disabilities, LGBTQIA+, or those who make up a family whose income does not exceed BRL 2 thousand per person.

No Front End Developer course, candidates will learn how to develop and design web applications, in addition to publishing web applications and coding the visual interface of dynamic websites.

No Back End Developer course, students will learn to develop algorithms and services, learn to code back-end web applications, organize the work process in the development and creation of web application projects.

Now at data analytics course, students will learn to collect data and manage them by mastering the most used tools in the market, with the aim of creating correlations and formulating new concepts of information that will serve as a guide for the company's strategies making the best decisions.

How to sign up for free iFood and Digital House courses?

Each of the free courses in the IT area has 50 places and will take place remotely, with overnight classes, completely live and online. Candidates who are interested must be 18 years of age or older, have completed high school and must reside in Brazil. It will also be necessary to register in advance on the Potência Tech website. For registration, data such as full name, e-mail, cell phone, CPF, state, among other information such as family income, course of interest, race, gender, and others, will be required.

For Cristiano Santos, Chief Growth Officer (CGO) of Digital House, the purpose of the partnership with iFood is to generate quality training in the IT area for people who feel like learning and want to enter this area, which is becoming more and more promising.

Registration for the free courses can be done until April 7 through the Digital House website, and the logic test can also be done until that same day. The online introductory course will take place from the 8th to the 18th of April and the online challenge will take place from the 19th to the 24th of the same month, the interviews will take place from the 27th of April and will last until the 9th of May. The courses will start on April 11th.

IT area is short of manpower

In a country with more than 13 million unemployed, can you imagine arriving at a job interview where recruiters convince you to accept the vacancy? Although it seems impossible, this is the reality in IT, where there is a high demand and lack of skilled labor. Companies have “stolen” specialists from competitors, offering attractions such as remote work, very high salaries and qualification courses.

According to AAssociation of Information and Communication Technology Companies, until November last year, 196,5 professionals were hired in the area, basically double the total number of hires in the previous year. It is estimated that by 2025 there will be a demand for 800 new employees, which represents 160 vacancies per year. On the other hand, on average, only 50.000 people graduate from IT courses annually.
