The other four UEPs will be distributed in São Paulo, Espírito Santo and Sergipe, at different times until 2027.

The growth of the sector brings with it a significant increase in the generation of jobs.

It is estimated that, in the period between 2023 and 2028, around 21 new jobs will be created, of which 6.900 are direct on the platforms and 13.800 are indirect throughout the production chain.

Several segments work together to ensure the full operation of UEPs, including maritime support, maintenance and repair, production flow, replacement of equipment and parts, port operations, support bases and passenger transport, among other activities.

Salaries offered in the Oil and Gas Extraction sector are attractive, with an average admission of BRL 13.685, according to Caged data and a survey carried out by Firjan in June this year.

Given this perspective, it is essential that interested parties are prepared and qualified to take advantage of the job opportunities that will arise in the coming years.

Job vacancies in the oil sector cover several areas of activity

Savio Bueno, specialist in Oil, Gas and Naval at Firjan, highlights the importance of technical training to enter the market.

“Now it's time to get ready to conquer a job opportunity. It is a market that requires a lot of technical knowledge and Firjan SENAI has open classes to train the public interested in entering or specializing in oil or areas of transversal activity in this industry”, concludes Bueno.

According to the survey of vacancies by Firjan in 2022, the main professional formations with greater availability of opportunities offered by companies in the oil market, for higher education, were: Mechanical, Chemical and Electrical Engineering, Administration, Economics and Accounting.

In relation to professionals of technical level, the areas that obtained the most were: Mechanics, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation and Electrical.

With the perspective of continuous expansion of the oil and gas industry in Rio de Janeiro, investing in specialization and technical qualification is fundamental to guarantee a promising future in this sector that plays a crucial role in the economy of the state and the country.
