Multinacional Bayer closed a 10-year contract with Omega Energia for the delivery of a solar and wind power plant in the cities of Uberlândia, Paracatu, Itaí, Campo Verde and many others.

Omega Energia announced that it signed a supply agreement with the German multinational Bayer. The contract for the solar and wind power plant will last for about 10 years, and guarantees that all the energy consumed by the units in Uberlândia, Paracatu, Campo Verde, Itaí, Cachoeira Dourada, Paulínia, Petrolina and Belford Roxo of the multinational Bayer will come from 100% renewable.

The 10-year contract with Omega Energia provides for the receipt of a highly sustainable solar and wind power plant. This clean energy will avoid the emission of more than 100 tons of CO2 during the entire period of the contract, which will start in 2024 and run until 2033.

The multinational Bayer started its partnership with Omega earlier this year, bringing renewable energy from solar and wind power plants to the Petrolina (PE) and Paulínia (SP) units. The multinational Bayer's contract with Omega Energia enables the construction of a solar and wind power plant, which does not yet have an exact location, will be delivered by 2023.

According to Fabiana Polido, Commercial Director at Omega Energia, the company is celebrating being part of this new step by the multinational Bayer towards sustainability, which, like Omega, understands its important responsibility in environmental preservation.

For the Vice President of Product Supply at Bayer for Latin America, Rogério Andrade, the agreement with the energy company is one of the important steps that the multinational is taking to reach its sustainability goals, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals .

The executive's objective with the solar plant is that, by 2030, the multinational Bayer becomes a company with zero carbon emissions throughout its value chain, reducing the impact on the environment.

Omega, on the other hand, with the title of the largest Brazilian generator of renewable energy, emerged in 2008 and, since then, has become a reference in the renewable energy sector. Currently, it is the largest holder of renewable assets in Brazil and is in seven states, with 1.869 MW of installed capacity.
