Toyota is committed to decarbonizing its vehicle fleet and has introduced plug-in and flex-fuel hybrid models

The Japanese multinational Toyota has shown concern about carbon emissions into the atmosphere and is constantly looking for alternative solutions to the use of fossil fuels. In that sense, she has great models consecrated in the international market, such as the Corolla and the Corolla Cross. Both have an unprecedented flex hybrid propulsion technology in the world.

The use of technology by the automaker highlights the flex-fuel hybrid, as electric cars powered by this type of propulsion find support in the electric mobility infrastructure itself. However, it can reduce gas emissions by 70% compared to conventional cars powered by fossil fuels, such as gasoline.

During the event, the company also brought the Prius PHEV model. This version is sold in several countries and has a plug-in mechanism, which allows charging the battery during vehicle acceleration or braking, and also at outlets, in addition to charging stations. This guarantees 100% autonomy for the electric car over short distances, being able to exceed 1.000 kilometers without the need for charging at the end.

Japanese multinational also brought the first all-electric premium model and the first hydrogen-powered car

In addition to the incredible modern models, the event featured the presentation of a new premium model from the all-electric brand, the Lexus UX 300e. The model is an SUV that has a capacity of 204 horsepower, reaches an impressive autonomy of 315 km. The load is in the WLTP standard and the torque reaches the mark of 30,6 kgfm. This model arrives in the Brazilian market soon.

However, the big star of the event was the Toyota Mirai model, the first electric car powered by hydrogen to be produced on a large scale by the automaker. The car is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell, which demands a lot of resources for assembly and sale, due to technological resources. In addition, the lack of an infrastructure for hydrogen in Brazil still makes it difficult for the model to be sold here.

Brand stands out in the sector by expanding the purchase options for Brazilians, but with reservations

The event was a success and brings new options for Brazilians to buy electric cars with high technology incorporated. However, some fully electric models are not yet available for sale in Brazil, but should be launched soon.

The company reports that in Brazil, flex-fuel hybrid cars and plug-in templates are ideal for the current moment. This is because our country still needs to improve its infrastructure for fueling vehicles, with more efficient stations. In addition, according to the company, the relief of Brazil is very diverse and electric car models are better in urban and more regular environments.
