The project is called LABGENE (Nucleoelectric Power Generation Laboratory) and was conceived as a prototype, on land and in full scale, of the propulsion systems that will be installed on the submarine.

The reactor is in the process of manufacturing, assembling and supplying the vessel (cylinder) and internal containment structures, in addition to the primary shielding tank.

NUCLEP's LABGENE works by allowing safe simulation, that is, before its installation in the nuclear-powered submarine, the operation of the reactor and the various electronic systems integrated therein.
