Oil ANP Production
40% increase in production

A 40% increase, according to ANP forecasts, will be accompanied by increased investments in new oil production units

The investments of 5,2 billion Reais in platforms of Oil next year, will cause national production to increase by 40%, from the current 2,7 million barrels per day to 3,756 million barrels per day in 2023.
The data are from the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) which foresees, until 2023, an estimated investment of BRL 17,4 billion in new platforms.

Forecasts were released last Thursday (01/08) and also forecast an increase in natural gas production from 118 million cubic meters/day to 167,6 million cubic meters/day in the same period.
Aligned with the thought of investments in the oil and gas sector, the ANP also communicated, on this date, the approval of the notice and contract models for the auction of the surplus volumes of the transfer of rights, which should take place on November 6th.

The documents will be approved by the Ministry of Mines and Energy and then by the Federal Audit Court (TCU), before being published on September 6th.

Price of fuels

The director of Strategic Planning and Market of the National Association of Fuel Distributors, Helvio Rebeschini, explained that Petrobras, when correcting fuel prices in refineries, does so only in part, and the company is not solely responsible for the increases.

It is worth remembering that Petrobras announced last Wednesday (31/07), readjustment of 3,75% in the average price of diesel and 4% of the average price of gasoline in refineries. The new values came into effect on Thursday (01/08).

“This is a mathematical question. If it drops 5% (the price at the refinery), the percentage that will fall (at the service stations) is not 5%”, said the director of the Association.

He also explained that strong competition in distribution and resale prevents the full transfer of the readjustment to oil refineries.
According to a survey by the Association this year alone, until July 20, the average price of gasoline at refineries increased by 10,3%, and at the pump it grew by only 0,2%. In the case of diesel, the price at the refinery increased by 14,2%, while the price at the pump increased by 3%.
