The III World Nuclear Energy Day is a partnership event between UFRJ and Crea-RJ

Even today there is a lot of misinformation about nuclear energy in Brazil. Therefore, considering combating this evil, the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) partnered with Crea-RJ to carry out the third version of an event in the sector. The III World Nuclear Energy Day brings the main benefits and achievements in science and technology in the sector and will be held in Rio de Janeiro in 2022.

the event will happen this Friday (2) between 8am and 13pm and is being organized by the Nuclear Engineering Program of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). The 2022 edition of this great event will have the theme “Chain Reaction”

The theme “chain reaction” was chosen due to the double meaning of the expression. In other words, the chain reaction is a process that happens in nuclear energy, due to the fission process for energy generation.

However, this expression also implies a figurative sense in which the objective is communicate recent research results in the area. In this way, knowledge would generate a chain reaction in favor of truth against disinformation. Furthermore, the purpose of the event is to debunk the myths about nuclear energy that circulate around.

The first edition of the event took place in 2020 and was a true success. In this sense, the initiative in Brazil went through a second successful edition and now it is the third time that it is carried out. The partnership between UFRJ and CREA-RJ brings many benefits and stimulates the expansion of knowledge about the nuclear energy segment.

This major event is essential to increase people's knowledge about nuclear energy production in Brazil. However, the organization of this meeting is the responsibility of undergraduate and graduate students in Nuclear Engineering, PEN/COPPE and DNC/POLI at UFRJ. Therefore, the 2022 edition is being produced by them in partnership with CREA-RJ.

Where will the III World Nuclear Energy Day take place?

The III World Nuclear Energy Day is one of the biggest events in the world on the subject of Nuclear Energy. However, in Brazil it is being promoted by two major institutions. This event will be held in a hybrid mode, based at Crea-RJ (Rua Buenos Aires, 40 — Centro) and broadcast live on the YouTube platform.

The event will take place between 8 am and 13 pm and will feature a lecture, round table and workshop, with the participation of industry experts. To participate, only online slots are available. However, you can interact in real time with the event, in this link, at the time and day of the event.
