Furnace port released for operations
Ibama

Enterprise obtains clearance from Ibama, focus is on the Oil and Gas segment and optimism for job creation grows in the city of Arraial do Cabo, in the north of Rio de Janeiro

After an embargo, which had already lasted a year, Ibama released operations at Porto do Forno, in Arraial do Cabo (RJ), which has its main focus in the Oil and Gas area.
The embargo was withdrawn after an inspection, and Ibama verified that all the conditions for the port's environmental licensing were in effect and opted for the release, even though the port in Arraial do Cabo had some pending issues.

Those responsible for implementing the Basic Environmental Programs (PBAs) were Firjan, through the Senai Institute of Environmental Technology and the Municipal Company of Port Administration (Comap) which were foreseen in the license but had not yet been executed.

With the support, also from the UFF (Fluminense Federal University), which resolved the pending issues in relation to Ibama's licensing, including monitoring work, the environmental program was consolidated.

The president of Firjan in Leste Fluminense, Luiz Césio Caetano, spoke about the economic importance of Porto do Forno and the impact of its stoppage, since it was a strong generator of jobs, not only for the city of Arraial do Cabo, but also for the entire lake region.

“A paralyzed public port causes enormous damage, because it not only serves the city or municipality, but the entire region. There is a loss of employment, income and the collection of taxes and, of course, there is a direct impact on all its users who have had to operate in other locations”

However, it remains for the Port to be able to resolve pending issues with the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) and the Federal Revenue Service, since without these releases the port cannot receive cargo, whether from abroad or nationally.
