The proposal was forwarded to the Board of Directors of AES Tietê, which will have a period of 60 days to take a position. The operation is characterized by its installed capacity, totaling 6,4 GW by the year 2024.
According to the CEO of eneva, Pedro Zinner, “The two companies have complementary portfolios. The combination of Eneva's assets with those of AES Tietê would result in a diversified and balanced platform of essential assets to meet the growth and demand for energy in Brazil. The combined company would add all the competencies necessary for the development of new competitive projects that serve the market”.
With the merger position, depending on the request, it will bring to the market a new and diversified company: 43% thermal, 41% hydroelectric, 11% wind and 5% solar. The proposal still depends on some factors, such as the approval of the shareholders of the two companies, the endorsement of CADE (Administrative Council for Economic Defense) and Aneel (National Electric Energy Agency).
What remains for us is to wait for this possible merger and a significant change in the energy market in Brazil.
