Equipment will operate in the CE-M-717 block, in the Ceará Basin, and Premier will also bid for mooring berths for offshore support vessels
Premier Oil confirmed today (17/07), the search for an offshore rig for a campaign in its Berimbau/Maraca field, in block CE-M-717, in the Ceará Basin.
The announcement was made by the company, which had already launched an RFI (Request For Information) to the market to know the conditions of the companies in relation to the availability of this type of equipment in the country.

The RFI also included consultation on hiring berths for support vessels in Fortaleza, Ceará. The drilling campaign in Ceará, according to Premier Oil, will start in 2020.
The block's first campaign is estimated to end in July 2021.
Premier Oil plc is an independent UK oil company with oil and gas interests in the UK, Asia, Africa and Mexico.
The company acquired the CE-M-717 block (approximate area is 500 km²) in the 11th ANP bidding round in 2013 and owns 50% of the asset and is partnered by the Spanish Cepsa Oil and Gas do Brasil, which is being bought by the group Matador Bidco S.À.RL, formed by the private-equity fund Carlyle Group.
This is not Premier Oil's only project in Ceará. In 2016, the oil company had already acquired 3D seismic data in blocks CE-M-717 and CE-M-661.
