after receiving investments, now with 92 square meters of built area and 1 million square meters of total area, the new PremierPet factory was inaugurated in the Paraná city of Porto Amazonas, about 80 kilometers from Curitiba, at the end of June 2022. Already owning the PremieR, Vitta Natural and Golden brands, the giant PremierPet, which is already the largest pet food factory in Latin America, should multiply its dry food production capacity and generate several job openings. employment in the region.

The company chose the location of its new food factory in Porto Amazonas because the municipality is very close to protein and grain suppliers and large consumers. In addition, the site also has a road network and easy access to the railway and port areas, proving to be a good location with favorable conditions both to receive imported inputs and to help expand the business.

Construction of the new factory and employment opportunities

The PremieRpet factory in Paraná started producing pet food after three years of construction. The company responsible for all phases of its construction, from foundation to completion, was AGE Engenharia, and the physical state of the current work (the expansion of the company's new factory) is close to 100% for the first phase, which comprises the 2 first lines. Also, the construction of the new venture was in charge of the construction company A.Yoshii, which was in charge of inspecting the engineering project, supplies and construction of civil structures.

The new venture will also have technological extrusion lines and an exclusive laboratory for analysis and will have a production capacity of 660 thousand tons of food for dogs and cats per year. In this construction phase, approximately 350 direct and 700 indirect jobs will be generated in the municipality of Porto Amazonas, which has 5 inhabitants. According to the mayor of Porto Amazonas, Elias Jocid Gomes da Costa, during the inauguration, the jobs generated with the new factory represent 20% of the population.

“Today, we are the largest company in Brazil in the pet food segment. This investment, added to the recent inauguration of the wet natural products plant in Dourado (SP), marks a turning point in the company's growth history, with an unprecedented impact on our market", says the director of strategic planning and corporate marketing at PremieRpet, Madalena Spinazzola.

Commitment to the environment

The new factory inaugurated in Porto Amazonas, it was developed to receive the Leed Gold certification, the main symbol that recognizes buildings that are committed to the environment and follow international standards. According to PremieRpet's industrial director, Cássio Macedo de Toledo, the company was the first to introduce rules to combat environmental degradation and became a reference in the pet food segment with the Leed Gold award for the cookies factory in Dourado (SP), inaugurated in 2016.

The Leed seal is proof that the company met a series of necessary requirements in the factory construction process, which are: location and transport, sustainable space, efficient use of water, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, internal environmental quality, project innovation and fulfillment of regional priorities.
