With a holiday program full of attractions for all ages, the space stands out as a complete and innovative option to enjoy leisure time. In November 2022, SESI Lab will complete another successful year, attracting thousands of visitors to its 8 thousand square meters.
SESI Lab: 100% Interactive Museum and Multipurpose Space
Even without ticket charges, however, it is necessary to issue tickets at Sympla or at the museum's physical ticket office. During the period of free season, opening hours will remain the same: Tuesday to Friday, from 9am to 18pm. Saturdays and Sundays, from 10am to 19pm. The SESI Lab café and the museum's concept store will operate on the same days and times as the museum's activities.
The SESI Lab Tunnel: Multipurpose Space with Free Programming
With the inauguration of SESI Lab in November 2022, Brasília gained a multipurpose space with free entry, a 6.1 sound system and digital projection. The SESI Lab tunnel is a gift for residents and tourists, providing programming for all ages, exploring different genres and experiments. During this period of special holiday programming, the venue will promote the ‘Cine Curtas’ project, with sessions on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 17pm.
Diverse programming for all ages
As cultural attractions They take place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in January and the first weekend in February. On other days, the museum will be open for visitors. On all days, entry will be permitted up to one hour before closing. Cinematographic Programming and Theatrical Shows
The cinematographic program in the tunnel is curated by Glauce Pena Santos, together with the museum's Cultural Programming team. The animations chosen for the projection stimulate reflections on science, innovation and tech in everyday life. Among the films chosen are short films from Pixar, the Brazilian series ‘Anima Criança: Lendas Brasileiras’, among others. The feature film ‘Minhocas’, the first film made in stop motion in Brazil, is also on the screening list. On Saturday and Sunday mornings, at 11am, the space hosts theatrical shows.
Interactive Workshops and Educational Activities
Interactive workshops and educational activities will be offered for all ages. Workshops are held at 11am and 16pm on Fridays. On Saturdays and Sundays, they take place at 11am, 15pm and 16pm. Exceptionally during this period, Espaço Maker will not promote editions of the Maker Livre project. Activities to explore the exhibition galleries and the games ‘Sensory memory’, ‘Who am I?’, ‘Hunt for Knowledge’ and ‘The weight you carry’ will also be offered.
About SESI Lab and its facilities
Since its opening in November 2022, more than 250 visitors have visited the 100% interactive museum. The iconic building designed by Oscar Niemeyer at the time of the construction of Brasília, is now a stronghold of , science, technology and education for all ages. The space is an initiative of the Industrial Social Service (SESI), in partnership with the National Industrial Learning Service (SENAI), and promotes the connection between artistic, scientific and technological actions, in collaboration with industry and society. SESI Lab has around 8 thousand square meters of built area dedicated to exhibition, creative and maker spaces, interdisciplinary rooms, an 84 square meter LED panel, café and concept store.
