Among its innovations, it stood out for being the first popular car in Brazil to equip all its versions with double airbags as standard, a significant advance in terms of safety. And of course, it incorporated ventilated disc brakes, sub-chassis suspension and hydraulic stop, raising the level of quality and comfort for a vehicle of its class.

Sold with 1.0 and 1.6 engine options, both 8 and 16 valves, the Clio has adapted to the different needs of its users, varying its power and performance over the years. However, with the arrival of the Renault Sandero, the Clio was gradually repositioned into the automaker's entry-level category in the country, marking a significant change in its commercial trajectory.

Clio production in Latin America took place in both Argentina and Brazil, more precisely at the São José dos Pinhais (PR) factory, until 2016. In 2017, Renault ended production of the Clio in Brazil, replacing it. o by the Renault Kwid as the brand's entry-level model.
