Great technology leaders join forces in Cataguases to empower and innovate in the energy sector
In the heart of Cataguases, the Energisa has become the epicenter of technological innovation. Between October 16th and 19th, it opened its doors to professionals from renowned companies such as Google, Microsoft and KPMG. The event, called “Tech Week”, promised to offer a rich exchange of knowledge with lectures on emerging technological trends in the energy sector.
Topics highlighted ranged from Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) to cybersecurity. This wealth of content was made available not only to Energisa employees, but also to students from partner institutions, such as Senai, Sebrae, Doctum and CEFET.
In addition to theoretical learning, Energisa hosted its first Hackathon. This technology marathon, open to the general public, attracted more than 300 registrations. Participants, including programmers and designers, faced the challenge of creating artificial intelligence-based solutions to real-world problems. Energisa, in its mission to foster innovation, provided technical resources, mentoring and its vast knowledge in the sector to enrich the experience of those involved.
Gustavo Valfre, Vice-President of Technology at Grupo Energisa, highlighted the importance of this event: “Innovation and investment in human capital are essential for us. Through these initiatives, we aim to boost the professional development of our employees and external participants.”

Energisa: Promoting local development
In addition to Tech Week, Energisa has dedicated itself to the development of Minas Gerais. Big names like Domenico Machado and Henrique Britto, from Google; Marco Monteiro, from Microsoft; and Eduardo Pereira, from KPMG, reinforced the company's commitment to technological innovation.
In September, Energisa launched the second group of Rio Pomba Valley. This program's mission is to offer education in Information Technology to low-income young people, promoting professional training and job creation in the region. In 2022, the program celebrated the training of 35 young people, with several of them finding opportunities within and outside Energisa.
