After 24 years working at a Ford multinational factory, a former metallurgist adheres to the request and voluntary resignation and runs his own business in SP
After the multinational vehicle manufacturer Ford ended its production and left Brazil, the famous saying "There are evils that come for good" was fulfilled in the life of Marco Antônio Anibal, who dedicated 24 years of his life as a metallurgist for the automaker, joined the Company's Voluntary Dismissal Program (PDV), he became an entrepreneur investing in his own business and opens a PINTA MUNDI TINTAS franchise in Pirassununga. Megastore in São Paulo has 200 m2 and space to train professional painters.

The paint retail segment is a great choice for those looking for profit, without becoming a slave to mall schedules and scary rents.
The paint retail segment is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to earn good profits, without becoming a slave to shopping mall schedules, rules and scary rents. It is a business in full expansion, which allows investors to work during business hours – from Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 18 pm and, on Saturdays, until 13 pm – and without worrying about stocks that run aground or that are highly perishable.
“The paints have a shelf life of up to three years. They are not like the fashion sector, for example, which changes collections four times a year. And they don't spoil like food. So, our franchisee sleeps peacefully, not being a slave to the business”, says Nassim Katri, franchisor of PINTA MUNDI TINTAS.
This confidence, proven by the numbers presented by the franchisor, was what attracted Marco Antônio Anibal, 49, to become a franchisee. Now, he inaugurates a unit of PINTA MUNDI TINTAS in Pirassununga (SP).
The investment was made based on many market surveys and after he participated in the Voluntary Resignation Program (PVD) at Ford in São Bernardo do Campo (SP). “After 24 years working in a factory, working hours at PINTA MUNDI TINTAS was one of the things that most caught my attention. I'm going to work from Monday to Saturday and I'm going to have more than a full day to enjoy the family. Life is not just about work, this also weighed heavily on my decision. Having that leisure time with the family was a huge difference”, says he, who is the father of Felipe, 13 years old, and Pedro Aníbal, 9 years old, and husband of Simone Lopes Barzeachi Anibal, 36 years old.
Former Ford metalworker says he had the idea of retiring working at the factory
Marco Antônio says that he had the idea of retiring working at the factory, but that the closure of activities put an end to his plans. Therefore, he did not know what he would do with his professional life and considered several alternatives.
In March of this year, he moved to Pirassununga (SP) and, in conversations with a friend, Ronaldo Bonfim Barros, who is also a PINTA MUNDI TINTAS franchisee, he heard great recommendations and decided to invest in the brand. “I believe in the potential of the business and I also intend to provide quality services to the final consumer, with the indication of suitable products for each type of service”, he says.
Even coming from a different branch, the former metallurgist at Ford, Marco Antônio, says that he has dedicated himself to learning about paints and emphasizes the importance of training offered by the franchisor.
In a 200 m² store, the Pirassununga unit will have a variety of brands, such as Suvinil, Coral, Sherwin-Williams, Real, Maza, Anjo and Montana. In the space, customers find interactive whiteboards – which help when choosing the color – in addition to private parking. A room was reserved for courses for painting professionals. “The idea is to also be able to do this social service, since training people is a way to help them improve their lives. In partnership with industries, we want to provide varied courses to professional painters, so that they can offer even better services to city residents”, concludes the new businessman.
