3.700 jobs: Neoenergia starts construction work on 239 km of transmission line to reinforce the infrastructure of the thermoelectric potential of the states of Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo

Construction work on the Itabapoana Project aims to reinforce the flow of thermoelectric potential in the states of Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo and promises to generate almost 4 jobs!

Neoenergia is moving forward with its transmission projects, and many job openings will be generated. The company started the works for the implementation of the Itabapoana line, located between the states of Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro. The project was acquired by the company in lot 3 of the auction held by the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) in December 2018.

239 kilometers of line will be built, in a double circuit, between the Mutum (MG) and Campos 2 (RJ) substations, with a voltage of 500 kV. The installation license, which allows the construction of the project, was issued by Ibama (Brazilian Institute for the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources).

"The Itabapoana transmission line is yet another Neoenergia investment that contributes to the safety and reliability of the electricity sector, which is important for the country's development, in addition to reinforcing the infrastructure for the flow of thermoelectric potential in the states of Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo Holy."Says the Director of Transmission, Fabiano Uchoas.

Construction work on the Itabapoana line promises to generate 1,5 direct jobs and more than 2,2 indirect jobs

Aligned with the company's commitment to promoting socioeconomic benefits in its areas of operation, the implementation of the project will also help the region with the creation of jobs. The company estimates it will generate 1,5 direct jobs and more than 2,2 indirect ones. Part of the resources for installing the asset comes from a green bond issue, carried out by Neoenergia in March 2020.

LT Itabapoana has operational synergy with another project acquired by the company in the same auction, LT Guanabara (lot 2). The asset will be 328 kilometers long, in Rio de Janeiro, and provides for the construction of the new Campos 2 substation.
