To open up new job opportunities at the Enseada shipyard, the Government of Bahia assembles a task force team

The Government of Bahia prioritizes investments in the Enseada shipyard to resume the economy of the naval sector. For this, a team called the task force was set up to work exclusively on the project of new businesses and source of income for the region. The Enseada shipyard is located in Maragojipe in the Recôncavo region of Bahia. According to data from the shipyard, Enseada has already employed more than seven thousand people in the industrial plant, located on the banks of the Paraguaçu River.

During a visit by a delegation from the Secretariat for Economic Development (SDE), the group that will prioritize working to place the shipyard again as a source of income and employability was presented. “We need to make this important asset operate. There is no one who is not sensitive to this panorama. It is a venture with very high investment, which boosted the state's economy, but which suffered a setback due to the national oil crisis and the naval industry", words of the state secretary for economic development, Luiza Maia.

Projects underway at the shipyard

Considered a victory for the shipyard in August was the maintenance contract for the drilling rig Norbe VI, from Ocyan. The next long-awaited contract for the shipyard is the construction of four Tamandaré-class corvettes for the Navy. Those responsible for the task force will be working hard to acquire many contracts in order to increase profits and jobs in the Bahian naval sector.
