As the world updates, certain regions, especially rural and rural areas, face challenges due to a lack of connectivity. These areas are often left out of technological advances. However, a important change in Agro do Brasil is on the horizon with the establishment of an innovative partnership between Space X, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, and John Deere – one of the largest agricultural machinery companies in the world.

This new agreement between Elon Musk's company and John Deere promises to be a milestone for technological advancement in the field, especially for Brazilian agriculture.

The main objective of the strategic partnership between the two giants is to expand efficiency in agriculture, focusing mainly on agricultural areas with limited internet access. This will be possible through the integration of Starlink satellite service, from SpaceX, with agricultural machinery produced by John Deere, transforming the way agriculture is conducted in remote locations.

John Deere recently announced the formalization of a partnership with SpaceX, led by businessman Elon Musk, with the aim of providing satellite connectivity services (SATCOM) for the Agro sector.

Via use of the Starlink network, which is a reference in the market, farmers who suffer from connectivity problems in rural areas will be able to fully access precision agriculture technologies.

The agreement will enable John Deere customers to increase the productivity, profitability and sustainability of their agricultural activities, while continuing to supply their communities and the world with food, fuel and fiber, contributing to sustaining production for an expanding global population.

Understand the scope of the partnership between SpaceX and John Deere

During the announcement, Aaron Wetzel, vice president of production systems and precision agriculture at John Deere, highlighted that the value of connectivity for the agricultural sector is more comprehensive than any individual action already taken.

Connectivity unlocks enormous opportunities that were previously limited or available. For example, throughout the year, farmers need to complete tasks in very short windows of time. This dynamic requires the execution of extremely precise production steps, in parallel with the coordination between machines and the management of their performance.

The executive concluded by saying that each of these areas is improved by connectivity, which makes the entire operation more efficient, effective and profitable. Elon Musk's ambitious plan currently has around 5.300 satellites in orbit with a focus on expanding to 42 and the company continues to seek new customers around the world.

In that scenario, the Starlink integration into John Deere tractors will be particularly relevant in the US and Brazil, where a significant part of rural areas suffer from low access to internet connection.

Agreement will benefit hundreds of people in Brazilian agriculture

In fact, in the United States, around 30% of these areas have limited access to the internet, but in Brazil this number reaches more than 70%, highlighting the change that this partnership will bring to Brazilian Agriculture. In this way, this agreement will benefit hundreds of farmers.

Although prices for antennas and software services for Starlink connectivity have not yet been determined, this collaboration will mark a new era for Elon Musk's company.

The solution SATCOM will promote the connection of new and already in-use agricultural equipment through satellite internet services and robust terminals. The technology enables features such as autonomy, real-time data sharing, remote diagnostics, advanced technical support and communication between machines, improving farmers' efficiency and productive time.
