With the aim of generating sustainability and a better quality of life for Teresina, the capital of Piauí, the City Hall signed an agreement with Equatorial Energia for the delivery of ten bicycles, an electric car and charging systems for electric vehicles

Through the Municipal Secretariat for the Environment and Water Resources, the Teresina City Hall and the Equatorial Piauí Group signed, on Wednesday (26), an agreement to make an investment project for electric cars in the capital feasible. The project includes an electric car, ten electric bicycles for use by the public who visit the site and a charging station for future electric vehicles in the region.

Equatorial Energia's investment in the capital of Piauí transforms Teresina into the first Brazilian capital to receive an electric car for PM use

Teresina will be the first capital of Brazil, which, through the partnership with Equatorial, will receive an electric car to be part of the police fleet, and not only that, it will also receive about ten electric bicycles for the leisure of residents in Parque da Citizenship.

In addition to distributing the electric car to Piauí, Equatorial will also be responsible for installing an accommodation and charging station for the park's electric bicycles and also for the charging station for electric cars.

It is noteworthy that the charging station will not only be for the electric car that will be delivered by Equatorial, but also to recharge the electric cars of those who visit the site.

According to the president of Equatorial Piauí, Maurício Velloso, the electric bicycles and cars initiative is part of the development and research program, and it is through this project that the group intends to propose a better use of energy associated with the means of transport that most we use.

Other objectives will be to encourage other people to reduce the impacts caused to the environment through the use of fossil fuels and also to promote a better quality of life for the population.

The bicycle and electric car project is part of a research and development program by Aneel, which is seeking to test, develop and implement a more effective and faster charging system in Brazil, which is capable of refueling bicycles and other electric vehicles in a single station, with the possibility of a future V2G application.
