Prices vary according to each refinery of the state-owned company, in the different Brazilian states. The lowest prices for gasoline are practiced in São Luís (MA), R$ 1,59; Itacoatiara (AM), BRL 1,62; and Manaus (AM), R$ 1,66. The highest prices for gasoline are at refineries in Brasília, R$ 1,89; Senador Canedo (GO), R$1,88; and Uberaba (MG), R$ 1,87.

The lowest prices for diesel S500, most sold on the roads, are in Itacoatiara (AM), R$ 2,02; Guamaré (RN), R$ 2,04; and Manaus (AM), R$ 2,05. The highest values are those practiced in Senador Canedo (GO), R$ 2,25; Brasília, R$2,25; and Uberaba (MG), R$ 2,25.

According to the state-owned company “the prices for gasoline and diesel sold to distributors are based on the import parity price, formed by the international quotations of these products plus the costs that importers would have, such as transport and port fees”.

Gasoline and diesel sold to distributors are different from products at the gas station. They are type A fuels, that is, gasoline before its combination with ethanol and diesel also without the addition of biodiesel. The products sold at pumps to the final consumer are formed from type A mixed with biofuels. The prices published by the state-owned company refer to type A products.

On these values, the profit margin of distributors and gas stations, taxes, which vary from one state to another, the cost of labor, among other variables, will affect.
