Renault plans to lead the electric/hybrid market and recently announced the launch of its new Renault Espace E-Tech SUV, a hybrid model with more than 1 km of autonomy.
Renault, the renowned French brand, is preparing to launch its new SUV, the Renault Espace E-Tech, in 2024. This model, built on the versatile CMF-CD platform, also supports the Austral models and the future Rafale. Since its launch in the 80s, the Renault Espace has achieved global sales of more than 1,3 million units. Known for being the first MPV, the model continues to stand out for its spacious trunk and versatility.
New Renault SUV delivers great interior space, good autonomy and cutting-edge technology
The new Renault Espace E-Tech SUV is quite different from the previous model and has the same “air” as the Austral, which in itself is very positive.
The front blade of the Techno level is painted in the same color as the body. The window frames are chrome-plated and polished, and the roof rails are made of smooth satin aluminum. The Iconic trim's grille, window surrounds, front blade and roof rails are black and the wheels are larger than 20 inches.
It is worth mentioning that the Renault Espace E-Tech SUV is 4,72 meters long, 140 mm shorter than the previous generation, but the new platform allows for better interior storage as the passenger compartment is even longer, being 2,48 meters to the third row. Longer trips in the third row are not recommended for people over 1,80, but the Renault Espace E-Tech SUV accommodates seven people well.
The seats are comfortable and with the 5-seater version of the Espace you will have a boot capacity of 777 liters (VDA). 1.818 liters in the 5-seater version with the second row of seats folded down, 777 liters in the 5-seater version with the second row pushed forward and 159 liters in the 7-seater configuration with the third row in place.
Renault Espace E-Tech SUV delivers 200 horsepower
The Espace version with the 200 horsepower E-Tech hybrid gasoline engine is controlled by an automatic multi-mode gearbox.
Consumption is lower than one would expect in a car of this size, and taking into account that the gasoline engine, together with the hybrid system that does not require charging, allows for a range that is realistic in terms, not falling far below 1.100 km announced by Renault.
The 200 horsepower E-tech hybrid gasoline engine of this new Renault Espace E-Tech SUV combines very well with the 3-liter 1,2-cylinder turbo gasoline engine with 130 hp (96 kW) that combines 205 Nm of torque, with the two electric motors, the main unit and the secondary unit, a high-voltage starter motor/generator that ensures smooth starting. engine of combustion and operates the exchanges of relations.
New Renault model features several technologies
The model's equipment is generous, just like previous versions. The entry-level version has, as standard, a 24-inch OpenR screen, electric tailgate, induction smartphone charger, 19-inch alloy wheels, Isofix systems on the left and right seats of the second row and a set of devices safety system that includes the blind spot warning system.
The Renault Espace E-tech SUV has electrically folded seats and these are heated, as is the steering wheel. In terms of safety, the steering assistant is only integrated into the Iconic and Esprit Alpine levels.
Traffic sign recognition and speeding prevention are incorporated into active driver assist, but can also be used independently.
