Investments in the purchase of wind energy and quotas for the Parque do Vento de São Mizael project should represent R$ 40 million in investments and will be a major contribution to Brazil's carbon footprint.

A Brazilian multinational and technology one-stop-shop TIVIT now has 100% of its energy consumed in the country from wind generation, a clean energy source that contributes to carbon consumption, starting the new operation of its venture in Parque do Vento de São Mizael.

The investment, which represented approximately R$ 40 million, included the purchase of wind energy and the acquisition of shares in the Parque do Vento de São Mizael project, which is part of the Rio do Vento Complex, in Rio Grande do Norte, in a joint venture with Casa of the Winds.

TIVIT is a Brazilian multinational and technology one-stop-shop, present in the market since 1998 and with operations in ten Latin American countries. The company has 30 offices, with four of its ten data centers located in Brazil and operating in nine more countries in Latin America.

For TIVIT, neutralizing its carbon consumption impact is an important step, which is why it sees that the use of wind energy only contributes to the environment. The goal is to produce 100% clean energy by volume, which would be enough to cover energy consumption from traditional sources in its operations by the end of 2021.

In addition, excess energy is directed to the National Electric System, as the production of wind power of the park is greater than the volume consumed in the company's operations, contributing to neutralize the carbon consumption of Brazil.

According to TIVIT's CFO, Mr. Paulo Freitas, “TIVIT is aware and committed to reducing its carbon footprint in the midst of environmental and sustainability issues, which have become increasingly urgent”, He further states that “ We make the necessary investments to supply our energy consumption through one of the largest wind projects in the world. We hope, through this action, to continue to positively impact society, encouraging the self-generation of clean energy in a country that has 75% of its energy generated by hydroelectric plants and is going through a difficult time”, completes the executive.

The project built by Casa dos Ventos, a company that operates in the development of wind projects in Brazil, in partnership with Vulcabras, is in a place with one of the best wind conditions in the country. As of 2022, it is expected to generate approximately 1.200 jobs, in addition to an energy generation capacity of 504 megawatts. The forecast for the start of commercial operations is for the second half of next year.
