Petrobras' oil production fell by 6,5 in February compared to January, according to the National Agency of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANP)

According to data published by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) last Monday, Petrobras' oil production fell from 2,96 million barrels per day in January to 2,76 million barrels per day in February, down 6,5%.

The company's natural gas production dropped 5,3%, totaling 121,4 million cubic meters of fuel per day.

In February of this year, a strike by the company's oil workers lasted 20 days. However, according to the president of Petrobras, Roberto Castello Branco, the company did not stop producing “not a single drop of oil” due to the stoppage.

Part of the drop can be explained by the reduction in the number of days in February, which had 29, against 31 days in January.

Petrobras was questioned about the reason for the reduction in oil and gas production, but it did not comment.

Still, when it comes to oil and gas production, 974,3 thousand barrels of oil were produced by the Lula field in February, the largest oil producing field in the country. This value represents a drop of 7,4% in the volume extracted. Gas production from the field also dropped by 6,25%, totaling 41,3 million cubic meters.
