The Accident Occurred on the Vessel PLSV Skandi Vitória, From Technip in Service of Petrobras in the Campos Basin

In the early hours of last Friday (30), Petrobras disembarked 9 employees from the vessel PLSV Skandi Vitória of the company Technip due to an accident involving a gas pipeline rupture, which occurred during one of the drillship’s operations. The state-owned company reported that there were no injuries and, so far, the Skandi is operating normally. Only 2 workers who experienced respiratory discomfort were airlifted to a hospital in Rio de Janeiro, the others showed no symptoms, nevertheless they were disembarked for more detailed evaluations at the same hospital.

This vessel was the first line launcher built in Brazil in 2010 at the STX shipyard. Its main operational equipment includes 2 ROVs and has the capacity to launch lines horizontally and vertically, in addition to a crane that can handle up to 250 tons of individual load. If you want to send resumes to it, we have a list of emails for companies by accessing the article here, you should search for the company DOF, as it is responsible for this vessel.

Do you remember the case of the sailor Francisco das Chagas Oliveira da Silva, who fell from a Bravante vessel that provides services for Petrobras? Well, he has not been found to this day. There’s no need to say this, but it’s worth reminding that the offshore environment is one of the most dangerous and unhealthy places to work, so remember your responsibilities and don’t forget that there are people who love you waiting and counting on you on land.
