The Brazilian oil company Petrobras continues to seek expansion in transport operations and is now awaiting the receipt of the Eagle Cambe tanker, which was received by AET in its fleet for chartering with the state-owned company

The Singaporean company AET recently announced the expansion of its fleet of vessels with the arrival of the new Eagle Cambe tanker, which will be destined for the Petrobras company. Thus, until this Thursday, (09/06), it is expected that the state-owned company will receive the vessel for operations of cargo transportation and is waiting for another vessel of the type to finalize the deal with 3 tankers for the company to expand its oil and gas exploration in the national territory.

Petrobras will receive AET's Eagle Cambe tanker, newly arrived in the company's fleet for cargo transport operations in the oil and gas sector

Petrobras continues its growth plan in the production and sale of fuels in the national territory, with a focus on oil and natural gas, and its contract with the company AET is now advancing even further. This is because the Singaporean company announced a new acquisition for its fleet, the Eagle Cambe tanker, which will be chartered by the Brazilian state-owned company for operations throughout the fuel production chain in Brazilian reserves.

The Eagle Cambe tanker is a Suezmax type vessel and was built by the Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) vessel company, in addition to also having a second-generation dynamic positioning (DP2) to ensure even more operational quality for the Brazilian state-owned company.

The Singaporean company closed a contract with the Brazilian state-owned company for the supply of three Suezmax DP2 type vessels and this is the second tanker delivered to the company. This is because the first unit, Eagle Colatina, was added to the AET fleet in March of this year and the company is now waiting for the third unit to finalize the agreement.

And, with the arrival of the Eagle Cambe tanker, the company AET announced that it had increased its fleet of vessels of this type to 16 units, aiming to further expand this number over the next few years. Petrobras highlighted that the arrival of the Eagle Cambe to join the Eagle Colatina will be essential to ensure the highest level of quality in operations in the Brazilian basins and, in addition to the tankers, the company operates six other DPSTs for the state-owned company's activities in the country.

AET celebrates the arrival of the Eagle Cambe tanker to its fleet and partnership with the state-owned company to supply vessels for the Brazilian oil and gas sector

The Singapore-based vessel company is moving forward with its partnerships around the world and, regarding the new addition to its fleet, AET thanked “colleagues at AET and Eaglestar, as well as SHI, Petrobras, DNV and all the suppliers and partners involved in the safe construction and delivery of Eagle Cambe as we continue to contribute to a more sustainable shipping ecosystem.”

In addition to the contract with Petrobras for the supply of a tanker, AET is also expanding its presence in the domestic market and has had a partnership with Shell since the beginning of the year.

Thus, the Asian player received the third and last DP2 tanker for chartering with Shell last month. Thus, the two sister vessels of Eagle Colombo – Eagle Campos and Eagle Canoas – were delivered to AET in January and March 2022, respectively.

This is yet another AET business strategy for the Brazilian market, which now has even more vessels in the Singapore company's fleet for activities in the oil and gas sector after the contracts with Shell and Petrobras, which are heavily benefited with the high technology of the company's tankers.
