With investments of US$ 458 million (about R$ 2,3 billion), the new diesel hydrotreatment plant at the Paulínia Refinery (Replan), owned by Petrobras, promises to generate 6 jobs in SP

Petrobras informed in a material fact to the market that, last Monday (9/5), it signed a contract with the Toyo Setal HDT Paulínia Consortium, formed by the companies TSE and TOYO, tofor the construction of a new diesel hydrotreatment unit (HDT) at the Paulínia Refinery (Replan).

According to Petrobras, the project will allow the state-owned company to increase its production of Diesel S-10.000 by 10 m³ per day from 2025, the deadline for the plant to start operating.

Investment in the new HDT will be US$ 458 million and the expectation is that approximately 3 direct jobs and another 3 indirect jobs will be generated in the region during the construction period. With this unit, Replan's fourth HDT, all the diesel produced at the refinery will have a low sulfur content, in addition to allowing for an increase in aviation kerosene production (QAV).

“Petrobras remains focused on improving energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gases, adapting refineries and preparing to remain competitive. Over the next five years, the company foresees investments of US$ 6,1 billion in Refining, with the objective of expanding refining capacity and to position the refineries among the best in the world in terms of efficiency and operational performance”, said the state-owned company.

Inaugurated in May 1972, Replan is the largest refinery in Brazil in terms of processing capacity, with a load of 69 million liters (434 barrels) of oil per day. In addition to diesel oil, the refinery produces gasoline, aviation kerosene, asphalt, LPG and propylene, among other petroleum derivatives.
