Ambev, the largest beverage company in the world, calls for 160 exclusive vacancies for women at Academia da Cerveja! Candidates from all over Brazil can participate

The multinational Ambev – the largest beverage company in the world, has just launched Academia da Cerveja – the first platform for free and online courses in beer knowledge open to the public in the country. The initiative aims to expand opportunities for training and professionalizing women in the Brazilian market, offering 160 vacancies for an exclusive training course for women, in direct support of the #CervejeiraSouEu movement, recently launched by the company, as announced by Click Petróleo e Gás.

The company's unprecedented action has been claiming the correct use of the word 'brewery' and seeks to combat the undue association between profession and gender, still very common in the beer market. In mobilization on Twitter last week, women supported the movement for gender equality and recognition of professionals inside and outside the breweries.

“The #CervejeiraSouEu campaign plays a very important role in reaching more and more people, but, more than that, it is necessary to promote real, effective and combative changes, encouraging other breweries and brewery schools to do the same. We are allocating these vacancies in an exclusive course as a way to guarantee that women feel welcome at Academia da Cerveja and are fully sure that there are many opportunities to be built together, internally or externally”, explains Laura Aguiar, master brewer and head of brewing knowledge and culture at Ambev.

All women over the age of 18 interested in learning more about the beer universe or those who wish to improve themselves in specific modules can apply for vacancies

In all, nine Brazilian capitals, between June and December of this year, will host the courses. In São Paulo, classes have already started on the first of June, at Empório da Cerveja, in Pinheiros.
