ANP wins 45 new contracts
ANP auction will generate 45 new contracts

With 12% of the blocks auctioned, the first auction in 20 years without Petrobras, ends with a positive balance according to the assessment of the president of the ANP

With Exxon, Enauta and Murphy winning the first blocks offered, ended the first auction of the ANP permanent offer. In it, a total of 273 blocks were offered, 33 of which were auctioned and 14 marginal areas, of which 12 were acquired, resulting in a total of R$ 22,2 million raised in bonuses.

273 blocks were offered, of which only 33 were sold. Of the 14 areas with marginal accumulations, 12 were auctioned off. Totaling the signature of 45 new contracts and a total bonus collected that adds up to R$ 22,2 million.
The auction took place this morning (10/09) at a hotel in downtown Rio de Janeiro and ended just now.

The ANP's permanent offer consists of the continuous offer of returned fields (or in the process of being returned) and exploratory blocks offered in previous tenders and not auctioned or returned to the agency.

In this first public offer, 273 exploratory blocks were available to buyers, 24 of them in offshore areas, and 14 areas with marginal accumulations, distributed among six sedimentary basins in the country.
If the ANP manages to sell all areas in future sessions, the total collected could reach R$ 320,2 million.

new players

According to Décio Oddone, general director of the ANP, the auction was a success, as 45 new contracts will be signed. “This is not little for our industry”, he declared shortly after the end of the auction.
The agency director added that he also highlighted the entry of new medium and small companies in the oil and gas industry and that the main objective of this auction is not to collect signature bonuses, but to generate investments, income and royalties.

The number of companies interested in the auction was another point that generated optimism in the director of the ANP, “The expressions of interest far exceeded our expectations”, he said.
“And it is something extremely symbolic at a time when we are replacing the monopoly in Brazil with an industry because it is the first auction that we have in 20 years without the presence of Petrobras in 20 years and it is a successful auction”, reinforced Oddone.

Renata Isfer, Deputy Secretary for Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels at the Ministry of Mines and Energy, said that: “This promises to be the great year for oil in Brazil”.
The secretary was marked out in the three major ANP auctions that we will still have this year:

The auction of the 16th Round (scheduled for October 10th) where thirty-six blocks will be offered in the marine sedimentary basins of Pernambuco-Paraíba, Jacuípe, Camamu-Almada, Campos and Santos.
The Transfer of Rights Surplus Round (scheduled for October 28) is one of the most anticipated by the government and the market. It offers the development areas of Atapu, Búzios, Itapu and Sépia, in the Santos Basin.

And finally, the 6th Production Sharing Round (scheduled for November 7), which will offer blocks in the pre-salt polygon called Aram, Bumerangue, Cruzeiro do Sul, Sudoeste de Sagitário and Norte de Brava.
