WEG, the developer of the project, saw two wind turbine blades arrive at the port of Imbituba this weekend via the ship Bartolomeu Dias, coming from Ceará

O Port of Imbituba there was another major operation for the landing of two wind blades this weekend. The wind blades measure 72 meters, weighing no less than 22,5 tons each. To the two parts were manufactured in the state of Ceará, making the journey from the northeast to the port on the ship Bartolomeu Dias, belonging to the cabotage fleet of the shipowner Aliança. All cargo belongs to the Santa Catarina giant WEG.

Great project developed by WEG

She is now being prepared to finish the journey through the land route. The wind blades will be installed on the city de Capivari de baixo, in the south of Santa Catarina. The wind blades are part of a project by Aneel, where they will be used in a research project of the same in partnership with Celesc (Engie Brasil and Centrais Elétricas de Santa Catarina), being developed by WEG.

Port of Imbituba celebrates the operation with wind blades

The operation at the port, involving the ships and the wind blades, was carried out by Santos Brasil, a company that is the lessee of the Container Terminals and general cargo at the Port of Imbituba. Fábio Riera, CEO of SCPAR, spoke briefly about the operation: ”These operations have an important representation for the port, due to the demonstration of the technical capacity to receive and ship large volumes, with agility and safety, due to the flexibility in handling different cargoes and as a logistical mediator of large investments for regional development.".

WEG's load shows once again how much investment and renewable energy is growing. With the change in the environmental policies of companies around the world, investment in this area seems to be increasingly important. The project developed by WEG is huge, costing a fortune. Just the fact of bringing the wind turbine blades by ship from the northeast is already expensive, but it will be rewarded with the results.
