Of the total, R$ 620 million of the investment will be divided equally between the two partner companies in the joint venture and R$ 670 million will be invested by AES Tietê.

On the same day that the parent company AES Brasil announced the sale of UTE Uruguaiana, AES Tietê Energia completed the constitution of a joint venture with shared control with Unipar Carbocloro.

The companies closed an Investment Agreement at the end of last year for the incorporation of the company aimed at generating wind energy.

The wind energy generation park project has 155 MW of installed capacity, equivalent to 78 average MW of assured energy, of which 60 average MW have already been sold through a 20-year contract signed between JV and Unipar.

The venture is under construction and is part of the 583 Tucano wind complex MW, located in Bahia. The entry into operation of the 155 MW is scheduled for the second half of 2022.

The financial director of AES, Clarissa Sadock, stated that, to finance the work, AES Tietê does not rule out issuing infrastructure debentures. She added that the company has already applied for credit with the BNB and the BNDES, highlights the InfoMoney portal.

AES Tietê plans to produce energy using only 100% renewable sources and, therefore, does not rule out acquiring more wind and solar energy assets
