With the capacity to supply thousands of homes and promote a more sustainable energy matrix, BYD and Raízen are preparing to install nine photovoltaic solar plants across Brazil
BYD, a global giant in electrified vehicles and clean energy, is about to open nine photovoltaic solar plants in partnership with Raízen. The plants, located in the states of Ceará, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte and Pará, will begin generating energy in May, contributing significantly to the matrix sustainable energy supply in the country, according to the Revista Oe website.
With a total capacity of 26,5 Megawatts (MW), the project will have a significant impact, being capable of supplying 5.500 homes monthly, benefiting more than 27 thousand people. The generation of solar energy from the plants will be integrated into the electrical grid, shared with Raízen's own businesses and partners, resulting in savings on energy bills.
BYD and Raízen have already teamed up before on another project, check it out:
Strategic partnership in solar energy plants
BYD played a fundamental role in the development of solar energy plant projects, contributing to studies, executive engineering and management of Raízen Gera Developer plants.
