October 21 – Brazilian energy concessionaire Copel (BVMF: CPLE6) was awarded 90 MW of wind projects in the country's latest energy tender. The company will build a new wind complex in the state of Rio Grande do Norte called the Jandaíra Wind Complex. Comprising four wind farms, the project should start next year. It will require investments of BRL 400 million (US$97,2 million / EUR 87 million).
Copel has secured 20-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) at a price of BRL 98 per MWh. According to the auction guidelines, energy supply will begin in 2025.
