According to Lourival Serejo, President of the Court of Justice, photovoltaic solar energy is the best source of clean and renewable energy when it comes to sustainability, as the solar plant does not bring any type of pollution or degradation to the environment.
The area is large enough to carry the magnitude of the photovoltaic project and has ideal characteristics for absorbing solar energy, said judge Jorge Rachid, president of the Management Committee of the TJMA Sustainable Logistics Plan.
About the 12.500 project photovoltaic panels
According to Patryckson Santos, an engineer at the Court of Justice of Maranhão, the estimate is that the solar power plant will be 5 megawatts and will have around 12.500 photovoltaic panels, contributing significantly to Brazil fulfilling the 2030 Agenda, which is focused on sustainable development.
The overall project for the plant provides for an institutional partnership with the Government of Maranhão and the Municipality of São Luís, in addition to the supply of solar energy. This will allow public school students, both elementary and high school, access to the plant's facilities to understand sustainability and energy generation.
Solar energy in Maranhão
The state has 2.825 consumer units with a capacity of 34MW of electricity using solar energy, according to ANEEL. Compared to other states, there is still a lot to work on in photovoltaic energy.
The state has 161 photovoltaic systems for every 100 energy consumers. Another important fact is that around 138, out of a total of 217, have already been affected by photovoltaic energy, that is, more than 60% of the municipalities.
